Docs for: '020 CacheKey INIT v1.2
'020 CacheKey INIT v1.2ao
CacheOff & Key INIT v1.2
CacheOff & Key INIT v1.2ao
'020 CacheOff INIT v1.0
What are they?
All of them are INITs that you put in your system folder.
What do they do?
'020 CacheKey INIT v1.2 and '020 CacheKey INIT v1.2ao install an FKEY
(#9) that turns off and on the MC68020's instruction cache. You just put
them in your system folder, and at startup, they install the FKEY.
CacheOff & Key INIT v1.2 and CacheOff & Key INIT v1.2ao do the same
thing, but first turn off the instruction cache.
The difference between v1.2 and v1.2ao is that v1.2 checks to see if
FKEY #9 already exists, and if it does, it returns the old copy (not the one
installed by the INIT). v1.2ao automatically returns the new FKEY. The
problem with v1.2ao is that ResEdit does not work correctly with it, and
if an application uses FKEY #9 to do something, you can't get at the
application's FKEY.
What does the FKEY do? It toggles the MC68020's instruction cache. It
beeps twice when it turns it off, three times when it turns it on, and once
if you don't have an MC68020.
'020 CacheOff INIT v1.0 just turns off the MC68020's instruction
cache at startup.
Who wrote them, and with what?
I did! I wrote them in assembly!
What does the author want for them?
Yes, they are SHAREWARE! If you own a Mac II or a 68020 upgrade board,
I'm SURE you can spare a small shareware fee! This is what I ask:
$2 (or whatever you think is appropriate -- at least a letter!)
to register.
$3 and a disk for the latest versions, the source code, and
anything new that I might have cooked up.
or $8 for the latest versions, the source code, and anything new
that I might have cooked up on a disk.
That really isn't much considering the time that I spent on them.
Thank you,
Chris Demetriou
Send all shareware fees/bug reports to:
Christopher Demetriou

Checks can be made payable to Christopher Demetriou. Also, tell me WHY you
are sending the check (if you want me to register you).
If you haven't paid your shareware fee, and send in a bug report, I WILL be
pissed.
